In this division, we explore the potential of materials properties with the electron “spin” degree of freedom to the ultimate level. By cultivating excellent human resources for pioneering novel theories and application developments beyond the conventional spintronics field, we create new innovations to solve several social issues for Society 5.0 and after COVID-19. In particular, we focus on quantum materials informatics，hybrid quantum-classical technologies, advanced semiconductor technologies, and their new scientific principles. Also, we focus on technological developments related to biomedical, mechanical, aerospace, transportation, and chemical science. As a result, we will open up novel innovation and applications based on the spins.

For these purposes, we strengthen unique collaboration based on spintronics interdisciplinary research network as an organization in Osaka University and develop it into the center for global academic research and industry-academia collaborative research based on the innovation.
